Want your head in the clouds? Then have we got the opening for you. The hotel, in the needle point of The Shard, Europe's tallest building standing 310 metres (1,016 feet) above London.  The hotel is on floors 34 to 52. It was going to be one of the most talked about hotels of 2012, then 2013 - but that's life in the hotel biz. The opening is now re-scheduled for 2014. 

Despite the opening delays nothing can dent the glamour of this sky-high hotel. We predict the cocktails at the highest bar in London, bar GŎNG will be pretty heady. And the views will be dizzy and dazzling too. Personally we'll be booking into one of the two speciality suites or the presidential suite, a fantasy of glass and sky with enclosed 'wintergarden' balconies.  If you don't want a cocktail-with-a-view, how about a massage? The luxury CHI spa is on the 52nd floor.
